Orta off Clemson commitment board, for now

Defensive back Geraldo Orta of Valdosta, Ga. commited to Clemson on June 5, but he has reportedly withdrawn his commitment for the time being. Orta says he still has a "soft verbal" commitment to the Tigers but wants to keep his options open going into his senior year. Clemson would like to resecure Orta as a solid commitment, as he was their only defensive back commit for the 2011 class.

Differences in Peake's ratings cause for concern?

Dorman wide receiver Charone Peake committed to Clemson recently and is obviously a tremendous talent. I just find it odd that the Rivals and ESPNU recruiting services have such different takes on Peake. While Rivals has him rated as the nation's sixth best receiver and No. 91 overall prospect for 2011, ESPNU rates Peake as the nation's top receiver and twelfth overall player. So while Rivals wants us to believe that Peake will be a good receiver at Clemson, ESPNU is telling us that he could be one of the great receivers in Clemson's recent history. Maybe the rest of us can take these two opinions and meet somewhere in the middle. All we know is that Peake is good.

Can the Tigers keep both Lane and Bellamy?

Clemson has managed to nab two premier running backs for 2011 out of the state of Florida, but some are concerned that the Tigers may not be able to maintain the commitments of both Marlin Lane and Mike Bellamy. One would think that Bellamy has no issues with the situation, considering that he committed to Clemson after Lane, but you never know. Lane, on the other hand, we will have to see about.
