The Clemson coaching staff nailed down its fourth four-star prospect for the class of 2011 when speedy Florida running back Mike Bellamy committed to the Tigers this past weekend.
Bellamy, a native of Punta Gorda, Fla., turned down offers from national powers Alabama, Florida, Southern Cal, Notre Dame and Michigan, among others, to sign with Clemson.
Some liken Bellamy to former Clemson star C.J. Spiller, not only because he is from Florida, but also because of his quickness and track-star speed. He is the No. 3 rated running back in the class after he rushed for 2,153 yards in his junior season.
Bellamy is the twelfth commitment for the Tigers' 2011 class, which includes another four-star Florida back in Marlin Lane of Daytona Beach.
Clemson's other four-star commitments are offensive lineman Shaq Anthony of Piedmont, SC and tight end Eric MacLain of Fayetteville, NC.
