Clemson picked seventh in preseason ACC poll
Members of the ACC league media ranked the Clemson men's basketball team seventh in the preseason conference poll.
Defending national champion Duke was a near-unanimous choice as the conference's number one team (61 out of 62 votes). Clemson was picked to finish behind the Blue Devils, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, NC State, Florida State, and Maryland.
Miami, Georgia Tech, Boston College, Virginia, and Wake Forest round out the conference picks.
These projections seem more reasonable with regard to Clemson than some that we've seen from supposed "experts" (we're looking at you Jay Bilas) that project the Tigers to finish at the bottom of the conference.
Clemson loses star forward Trevor Booker and is bringing in a new coach, but it returns seniors Demontez Stitt (11.4 ppg, 3.1 apg) and Jerai Grant (7.2 ppg, 4.7 rpg), juniors Andre Young (8.9 ppg, 2.4 apg) and Tanner Smith (8.9 ppg, 4.1 rpg), and a sophomore class that should improve drastically in their second year.
